Doodle Generation chart and explanation

Below is a great visual example of the difference in coat types between an F1B and F1 cross. Notice the F1B has a curlier coat compared to the F1 cross, this ensures the hypoallergenic aspect and also completely non-shedding coat. With that said you can still get an F1B type coat from a 50/50 cross, however it depends on the parents and the way the genetics fall where they may. Many Breeder’s will do the F1B cross to guarantee that hypoallergenic coat with all the puppies in the litter, which is great for the families that suffer from allergies, or if they simply want the curlier coat that will ensure non-shedding. (Both dogs pictured are from Cafe Au Lait Aussiedoodles, LLC and in their wonderful loving home).

Below is a great example of an F1 (50/50 cross) littermates, one with more Aussie type coat and the other with more Poodle type coat. (both puppies are from Cafe Au Lait Aussiedoodles and in their loving homes).

Below are more great visual examples of how genetics can be a funny thing, the Black Tri/Phantom is an F1 cross (50/50) and the Blue Merle is an F1B (bred back to the Aussie). The F1 has more Aussie type coat and the F1B has more Poodle type coat. (both puppies are from Cafe Au Lait Aussiedoodles and in their loving homes).
